Sherry Hotz and fiancé Barry Gohn Jr. evacuated their trailer on Pine Road in Dover Township last week, but, before they did, they saw the violent waters push someones hot tub into a nearby trailer. The hot tub pinwheeled off the structure and continued barreling down the road, they said. "We got out when it first started, Hotz, 47, said. "We got ahead of it." Nearly three months worth of rain -- 9.11 inches -- fell within 24 hours Thursday into Friday, flooding roads, closing schools early, and sending emergency responders to rescue stranded people. York Countys normal monthly rainfall for October is 3.26 inches, according to John LaCorte, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in State College. Hotz and Gohn, 49, have invested more than $30,000 into their home and made two additions to it to accommodate their young grandchildren, ages 3 and 5, and remodeled its kitchen.
