Florida Man Gets 7 Years in New Jersey Insurance Fraud Scam

A Florida man who worked for a now-defunct southern New Jersey construction company has been sentenced to seven years in state prison for his role in a home-repairs scam. The New Jersey attorney general’s office’s insurance fraud division says Marcin Gradziel of Lake Worth, Fla., told homeowners in Gloucester and Camden counties in New Jersey they could get free siding and roofing if they’d suffered damage from hail storms. The homeowners weren’t aware they’d suffered damage, but an investigation determined that Gradziel visited the homes and damaged the properties before insurance adjusters visited. He then filed fraudulent insurance claims.
