Volkswagen AG is recalling more than 640,000 cars sold in China, the countrys quality watchdog said on Thursday. VW will replace the synthetic transmission oil with mineral oil to eliminate a potential safety hazard, a statement said. The vehicles include the Golf, Beetle, Audi, Lavida and Passat models, according to a statement published on the General Administration of Quality Supervisions website. They were locally produced or imported between January 2009 and June 2013, the statement said. The recall will start Nov. 25.
