Murrieta, Calif. house fire causes $1 million damage

Flames destroyed a two-story Murrieta home causing more than $1 million damage, city fire officials say. The blaze was reported at 12:05 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, along the 42300 block of Gold Cup Court.
The crews of four fire engines and a ladder truck spent 40 minutes knocking down the flames and an additional two hours completely extinguishing the fire. “The whole roof failed,” said department spokesman Matt Corelli. ”The second story … fell into the first floor on one part of the structure.
