Tornado damages dozen homes in Northern California

A dozen homes in west Roseville were damaged Wednesday evening by a tornado. The National Weather Service confirmed that the funnel cloud touched down between 6:15 and 6:20 p.m. Division Chief Kathy Finney of the Roseville Fire Department said crews received the report of damage in the area of Pleasant Grove Boulevard and Monument Drive, west of Fiddyment Road, at 6:43 p.m. She said 12 houses suffered roof damage and six reported fence damage. Two of the houses also were pelted with debris, such as barbecue grills, that damaged sheetrock, she said.
