The popularity of sport- and crossover-utility vehicles has resulted in an increasing number of them being reported stolen, according to “SUV & CUV ForeCAST Report,” from the National Insurance Crime Bureau.
National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) said 21,711 sport utility vehicles (SUVs) and crossover utility vehicles (CUVs) were reported stolen between Jan. 1, 2010 and Dec. 31, 2013, compared to 19,961 for the previous “SUV & CUV ForeCAST,” which covered the period from Jan. 1, 2008 to June 30, 2012.
