A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed against a Michigan City day care on behalf of the family of a child who hanged himself on a jump rope and died earlier this month. "...the day care facility failed to comply with Indiana state law whereby young children are required to be monitored and under the direct supervision of certified caregivers at all times, and was negligent in allowing a hazardous condition to exist on the playground," according to a news release from the law firm representing the family. "At the time of the tragic incident, the only two caregivers were inside the day care facility when a jump rope, which was hanging from an outdoor playset, became entangled around the childs neck..."
