Firefighters have issued a warning to households after a crystal doorknob started a house fire. Londons Fire Service is urging the public to keep crystal furnishings out of direct sunlight following the blaze. The suns rays reflected light through the doorknob and onto a dressing gown hanging from the door which then caught fire at the home in Clapham, south London, on Monday. The house was empty at the time and builders working at a property next door called the fire brigade.
