Four people were rescued from the roof of a Lafayette Avenue home as a fire raged through the structure, Police Chief Rich Gaito said Six people were treated for smoke inhalation, Gaito said.Barbara Tostes, 25, and her boyfriend, Lucas Viera, 25, were among those rescued. They were sleeping in the attic when Tostes heard her mother screaming. They tried to go downstairs to escape but it was impossible, she said. They climbed out a window onto the roof, where police helped them down a ladder.
