The Parker Fire District chief said a family of five was "very fortunate" to make it out of their home alive on Wednesday when it caught fire. Chief Steve Alverson said two adults and three children between ages 4 months and 4 years were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation when a fire broke out.He said firefighters were called to the Brooks Avenue home just before 9 a.m. and arrived to find the family had made it out.
The fire caused heavy damage to the home but its cause is not yet known.
