Rhode Island Family Loses Three Story Home To Fire

Seven residents were left without a place to stay after a fire Tuesday night in a Silver Lake triple decker, according to the Providence Fire Department. Firefighters had to search the burning building at 49-51 Priscilla Street because they had received an initial report that a 12-year-old boy was inside, but all of the occupants had gotten out on their own, said Deputy Assistant Chief Joseph Desmarais. Firefighters were called around 9:45 and had the fire under control within about a half hour, Desmarais said. The fire, which apparently started in a first-floor hallway and sent flames up to the third, caused extensive damage.
