A 17-year-old girl had to rescue herself and swim to shore after she crashed her vehicle in the Payette River over the weekend. Idaho State Police says the teen was driving on Highway 52 Sunday evening when she went off the shoulder of the highway. She overcorrected, lost control of her Chevy Malibu and went down a 42-foot embankment.
On the way down, ISP says, the vehicle hit boulders and the windows were broken. The vehicle ended up upside down in the Payette River.
