OnStar Alerts Rescuers To Submerged Car

Firefighters and rescue crews worked to pull a woman from her car that was partially submerged in a Taunton river early Monday afternoon. According to a fire department officials, OnStar alerted rescue crews of the emergency just before 1:30 p.m. After firefighters located the car in the Mill River off the Danforth Street extension, they pulled a woman from the front seat. She was transported to Morton Hospital. Fire department officials believe the car fell from the Danforth Street bridge before drifting down the river in a brisk current.
