Thousands of homes were damaged or destroyed in the Halloween flooding in 2013. The city and county have been buying out some properties, while other homeowners made repairs to stay put. But one couple in Southeast Travis County says they have been wrongly prohibited from fixing their house, and now, a lawsuit is involved. Michael and Nancy Kimbro want to stay put in their home on Bluff Springs Road. “Were not asking for any special treatment,” said Nancy Kimbro. “We just want them to be fair with us.” They applied for permits to make repairs but were denied because an adjuster said the damage was more than 50 percent of the homes value.
