Car Accident Injures Two In Chicago’s Chinatown

An off-duty Chicago police officer and another person were hurt during a car accident early Sunday morning in the Chinatown neighborhood, police said.Two cars collided around 1:15 a.m. at an intersection in the 2300 block of South Canal Street, police said. A Ford Fusion was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on Archer Avenue when it disobeyed a red light and struck a Saab, police said.The driver of the Saab was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and the 24-year-old man, who drove the Ford Fusion, was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, police said.
