Six children weren’t properly restrained in a crash Tuesday night on eastbound Alfred Harrell Highway, according to the California Highway Patrol. A 1-year-old boy and a 2-year-old boy suffered major injuries, the CHP said. Others suffered minor or moderate injuries. The children ranged in age from 1 to 7. No child-safety seats were found in the 2000 Ford Mustang.
Two women, 27-year-old Ashley Shacole Burns and 22-year-old Amber Watson, were also in the car. The driver, Burns, "came upon a left curve in the roadway and she was unable to negotiate the curve," according to a CHP news release.
