Small Plane Crashes In Motel Parking Lot

The wreckage of a small plane is still in the parking lot of a Sylacauga motel where it crashed on Monday.The Federal Aviation Administration will be in Sylacauga on Tuesday to investigate the plane’s crash landing off of Highway 280 at the Towne Inn Motel near Golden Rule BBQ and Waffle House. The area around the Diamond Aircraft DA-20 is still roped off by police tape, and will stay that way until the FAA completes its investigation. The good news is no one was hurt in this crash. The FAA has released a little information about the accident. They say the pilot was the only person on board and was practicing runway approaches at the Sylacauga municipal airport.
