New Yorker Charged For Claiming Deer Strike After Pedestrian Hit-And-Run

Police arrested a Walden man on charges of leaving the scene of a serious personal injury auto accident, assault and insurance fraud, following an incident in the Village of New Paltz. On April 25 at 3:25 a.m., David Arcuri, 28, is alleged to have struck a pedestrian who was walking on the shoulder of Route 208, and then fled the scene. The pedestrian was taken to MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie for treatment of serious, but not life threatening injuries. Detectives investigated, pursing several leads and contacting area body shops.
