A new souvenir shop that opened Wednesday in Daytona Beach Shores caught fire late at night. About 10 p.m., Rusty Cat USA caught fire. Someone passing by noticed the flames and alerted a Daytona Beach Shores police sergeant nearby. The sergeant said he helped get two employees out of the building. “I was sitting about a block away on the side of the road, when a citizen pulled up to me and indicated there was a fire down the way,” Sgt. Bill Frank said. “I immediately radioed it in, and I went to check on the occupants of the building.
