A car crashed through the concrete wall of a parking deck in downtown Birmingham on Monday morning, sending the driver to the hospital with only minor injuries. A Childrens of Alabama spokesperson said the woman is an employee. An official at the scene said a woman drove through the concrete barrier on the fourth floor of the old Childrens of Alabama hospital parking deck in the 1600 block of 7th Avenue South. The car flipped and landed upside down on two trucks on the ground. Birmingham Police Lt. Scott Thurmond says the trucks she landed on cushioned her fall.
