Sinkhole Displaces Wisconsin Residents, Consumes Three Cars

The cars swallowed by a sinkhole have been pulled from the earth, but the day after flooding from a burst pipe forced the evacuation of four East Side apartment buildings, many residents were uncertain when their lives would return to normal.
A trickle of residents returned Saturday to River’s Edge Apartments, 1614 Fordem Ave., all wondering when they would be allowed back into their homes and many searching for answers about how they would be compensated for damaged or totaled vehicles.
