Judge Dismisses Part of New Jersey Train Derailment Lawsuit

A federal judge has thrown out part of a lawsuit stemming from a 2012 train derailment that leaked hazardous chemicals in southern New Jersey. The ruling published Tuesday dismisses some claims against CSX and Norfolk Southern, two rail companies connected to Conrail. Seven cars on a train operated by Conrail derailed in Paulsboro on Nov. 30, 2012. Vinyl chloride, a gas linked to respiratory problems, dizziness and death, was released.
