Fast-moving wildfires in Northern California one of them barely contained and big enough to cover the city of San Francisco twice have destroyed more than 700 homes. One person has been killed a 72-year-old disabled woman who couldnt escape her home and at least 23,000 have been forced to flee. Firefighters hoped that lower temperatures and a chance of rain on Tuesday would help them gain ground against the most destructive of the blazes, known as the Valley Fire, raging about 100 miles north of the Bay Area.
