Highway Patrol Cruiser Rear-Ended During Traffic Stop

A Highway Patrol officer was taken to the hospital Thursday morning following a crash on Highway 99 near Stockton. According to the CHP, a 24-year-old woman rear-ended the officer on northbound Highway 99 near Morada Lane. The officer was on the shoulder, waiting for a car he stopped to get back on the road when he was hit, Highway Patrol said.
Investigators say they suspect the woman was driving under the influence, but have not yet confirmed that.
