Vehicle Crashes Into Apartment After Delivery Driver Is Shot

A delivery driver died in an incident that included a suspected robbery, shots fired and a vehicle crashing through an apartment building. Police responded to the shooting report around 10:10 p.m. Tuesday in the 2200 block of Windsong Drive near 21st and Mitthoeffer on the east side of Indianapolis. A dark-colored Ford Ranger pick-up truck had backed through the wall of a residence at that address. Officers found a body inside the vehicle. The male victim, who police say was shot at least once, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police believe the delivery driver was shot during a robbery.
