Orlando Residence Burns, But House Cats Are Saved

A woman kicked out windows of a burning Orange County home Thursday morning to rescue several cats. Jamie Dickson, whose father suffered burns in the blaze, broke out the windows of their Boreas Drive home, near Goldenrod and Lake Underhill roads, to save the cats. Her father refused to be taken to a hospital, fire officials said. Six of seven cats were saved in the fire. Firefighters used feline resuscitation equipment to help save some of them. The fire burned the front of the home, the garage and a vehicle.
