Icy Ramps, Overpasses Lead To Multiple Interstate Accidents

Dallas authorities say ice on overpasses and bridges contributed to several crashes Sunday morning. Dallas Fire-Rescue said black ice and fog were factors on Interstate 45 at Lamar Street where an accident shutdown all but one lane early Sunday morning. Wreckers cleared the area at around 8 a.m.Dallas Sheriff’s Office said it shut down the four ramps to and from Interstate 20 at Spur 408 until sand trucks can make the area passable. Deputies were called out for an accident on the ramps in southern Dallas. At least four vehicles were involved.
