The National Weather Service sent two teams to survey damage in Mississippi Tuesday morning after storms tore through Central Mississippi Monday. The final report concluded that a total of five tornadoes touched down in the Pine Belt. Three tornadoes touched down in Smith County in Sylvarena and Magee.The first tornado briefly touched down in Magee, downing trees in its 2.1 mile path length. That tornado was 100 yards wide and had max wind speeds of 75 mph. The NWS ruled this an EF-0 tornado. The second tornado was in Sylvarena, uprooting trees, and damaging homes in the area.
