Pipes In 4 Massachusetts Schools Burst Overnight

Pipes at four Framingham schools burst overnight, damaging classroom, office and cafeteria space, buildings and grounds director Matt Torti said. Torti said freezing temperatures that rose quickly, causing a quick thaw, probably caused the pipes to burst in McCarthy Elementary, King Elementary, Framingham High School and Walsh Middle School. McCarthy appears to have sustained the most damage, Torti said, after an entire wing of classrooms flooded. A water pipe on an exterior wall in a McCarthy bathroom burst, Torti said, flooding nine classrooms, a teacher’s room and the hallway.
