Dozing Driver Slams Into Nationwide Insurance Office

Nationwide’s slogan, “Nationwide is on your side,” took a different meaning Thursday morning after a truck slammed into the side of its building near the intersection of Poplar Avenue and Mendenhall Road. The crash happened around 6:30 a.m.
WMC Action News 5 crews found the truck halfway inside a Nationwide Insurance agency. “We’re just glad no one was hurt,” Rick Sieger, with Nationwide Insurance, said. According to Sieger, the truck was going westbound on Poplar. The driver fell asleep at the wheel, clipping a telephone pole.
