Sixteen people, and two cats, are without a home Tuesday evening after a fire tore through their apartment complex. The fire sparked just before 5:30 p.m. at Hunting Meadows apartments, near South Academy Boulevard and Chelton Boulevard in southeast Colorado Springs. "I heard a kid say, Fire, fire, and so I looked out my window and I said, Mom, theres a fire! ... I saw all the smoke...we rushed out here and we stood right over there, and all you could see is the flames coming up. ... As we were standing here, the flames just got bigger and bigger over time," neighbor Yasmine Winder told 11 News.
