A Month From Retirement, Worker Drowns In Paint Vat

Authorities have identified the worker killed in a fall at an Evansville paint plant Wednesday morning. The coroner was called to Red Spot Paint after officials say 67-year-old Joseph Ward fell into a paint tank. Officials say he was with the company for quite some time, and planned to retire next month. A hazmat team was called to the business to assist in a rope rescue. Employees say grief counselors will be at the company for the rest of the week. Production workers have been told they don’t have to report back to work until Friday. The investigation into what happened is still ongoing.
