Insurance claims in Florida from early Octobers Hurricane Matthew have grown to $803 million, according to the latest numbers from the state Office of Insurance Regulation. The total, tied to 115,560 individual claims made through Friday, is up from $729 million in early December. The state agency reported 49 percent of the claims have resulted in payments and that 85 percent of the claims cases have been closed. Volusia, Duval, Brevard, St. Johns and Flagler counties represented most of the claims.
