Insurance claims resulting from the Sevier County wildfires have risen by more than $100 million in the most recent report issued by the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance. The total for insurance claims on combined residential and commercial property losses from the fire stand at nearly $1 billion, or $943,003,361.55, according to TDCI. This is up from $842,245,997.98 in the previous report released Jan. 18. The number of claims also rose from 3,947 to 4,233. TDCI is issuing four reports on the fire; the latest figures are from the third report.
