A stronger Tropical Storm Franklin edged closer to its second landfall in Mexico Wednesday morning. But this time it could come ashore as a hurricane. The National Hurricane Center is forecasting Franklin to become the Atlantics first hurricane of 2017 before it makes landfall late tonight or early Thursday. As of 7 a.m. CDT Wednesday, Tropical Storm Franklin was located about 155 miles north-northeast of Coatzacoalcos, Mexico, and was moving west at 13 mph. Franklins winds continued to rise and are now at 70 mph. The hurricane center said it could strengthen even more as it moves across the warm waters of the Bay of Campeche.
