Ford F-series Super Duty trucks dominated the Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC)s 2017 list of Top 10 stolen vehicles because they are perfect for both individuals committing opportunistic crimes such as joyriding and for organized crime rings looking to sell parts on the black market. “The reason why you see so many F-150s get stolen is because they fit both spectrums of criminality [i.e. opportunistic and organized crime],” says Dan Service, acting national director of IBCs investigative services. “Youve got the opportunistic thief who wants to steal them because they are good for B&E [break and entry] and they are hard to stop if you get in a car chase.
