Nearly three weeks after tornadoes tore through Connecticut, there are still months worth of work to be done. The state is now calling on the federal government to help with storm damage assessments in the towns hardest hit in New Haven, Fairfield and Litchfield counties. In Hamden alone, 86 homes were destroyed according to the American Red Cross. Homes still have trees through them, there are tarps on roofs and some homes are now filled with asbestos. Robert Keglers family lost part of their home and two of their cars. He described the storm as tearing through in a flash.
