Strong Storms, Possible Tornadoes In West-Central Florida

A line of strong thunderstorms slammed into Florida Thursday morning, triggering possible tornadoes that caused damage and brought down trees in west-central Florida. The Manatee County emergency manager reported that a storm ripped the porch off a house and took trees down along Kibler Ranch Road in Myakka City, about 25 miles east of Sarasota. About 70 homes were reportedly damaged Thursday morning during a strong thunderstorm in Pasco County, CBS12 reports. A debris ball signature on radar strongly indicative of a damaging tornado near Ft. Meade, in southwest Polk County, Florida, was noted by NWS forecasters.
