Flood Damage Tops $7.5M In Sevier County, Tennessee

Sevier County officials are beginning to grasp the scope of damages sustained during February flooding — and it’s adding up quickly. According to county spokesman Perrin Anderson, some 236 private structures on private property have been assessed with estimated damages of approximately $3.3 million. Local municipal and county agencies reported damages of approximately $4.1 million to public property, he said. He said the total damage exceed $7.5 million. The Boyd’s Creek community was among places hit hard by high water in Sevier County. The creek flooded half a dozen homes along Payne School Drive.
