Sevier County officials are beginning to grasp the scope of damages sustained during February flooding and its adding up quickly. According to county spokesman Perrin Anderson, some 236 private structures on private property have been assessed with estimated damages of approximately $3.3 million. Local municipal and county agencies reported damages of approximately $4.1 million to public property, he said. He said the total damage exceed $7.5 million. The Boyds Creek community was among places hit hard by high water in Sevier County. The creek flooded half a dozen homes along Payne School Drive.
