Chrysler Recalls Nearly 500K Ram Trucks For Tailgate Problem

A Ram tailgate recall has been issued for more than 485,000 trucks because the tailgates may inadvertently open while driving.

The recall includes 2015-2017 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks equipped with 8-foot beds and power locking tailgates. Also included are all 2018 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 trucks built before April 1, 2018, and equipped with power locking tailgates.

About 410,350 of the trucks are in the U.S., 63,700 are in Canada, another 4,200 are recalled in Mexico and about 7,000 Ram trucks are recalled outside North America.

The Ram recall is an expansion of a 2018 recall of about 1.4 million trucks for the same tailgate problems.
