A teacher who claimed he was hit by a car at an Osceola County grocery store in 2016 was arrested last month, accused of faking the crash to defraud an insurance company, according to state investigators.
Lanfranco Palman, 56, of Clermont, faces three felony charges, court records show: insurance fraud, participating in a staged accident and organized scheme to defraud. He was arrested May 22 and has since been released from the Osceola County jail after posting bond.
According to the office of state Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis, which announced Palmans arrest Monday, he was working as an elementary school teacher in Kissimmee at the time of his arrest.
