Audi, Subaru Announce Recalls

Automakers Audi and Subaru have each announced recalls that impact hundreds of thousands of vehicles. While the problems are different for each automaker, the problems revolve around potential power loss issues, according to the Associated Press.

Audi says its recall covers select 2021 and 2022 Q5 and SQ5 Sportback models and some 2018 through 2022 Q5 and SQ5 models. The recall impacts an estimated 289,000 SUVs.

The vehicles are being recalled over concerns that water can get into a control computer which is located under the back seats.

If water gets into the computer, it can cause the computer to shut down, reducing engine power and in turn increasing the risk of a crash.

Thus far, Audi says it is unaware of any crashes or injuries that were caused by the problem, but is recalling the vehicles regardless.
