Shortly after noon Tuesday, the National Weather Service said its survey teams are in Forada assessing ‘confirmed tornado damage’ across parts of Douglas and Todd.
‘We have yet to assign an EF-scale rating to this damage, but it unfortunately is quite extensive,’ NWS Twin Cities said, noting that more updates are expected soon.
Drone footage captured by WCCO-TV shows significant damage on homes near Maple Lake. Forada Fire Chief Stephen VanLuik said that at least 75 structures were ‘totaled’ or ‘severely damaged.’
‘To see everything gone is incredible,’ he said.
