A severe thunderstorm knocked out power to more than 100,000 homes in Baltimore, Carroll and Harford counties Tuesday, according to Baltimore Gas and Electric.
BGE’s outage map shows the large numbers of homes without power throughout Baltimore, Carroll and Harford counties. Baltimore City appeared to be spared of major outages. As of 9:45 p.m., the company was reporting about 106,000 homes were without power.
"BGE has experienced significant system damage from the severe storm that impacted our service territory late this afternoon. Our crews are working to safely to restore power as soon as possible as we continue to assess the damage," said Ann Mooney, a spokeswoman for the company. "In addition to our employees and contractors, crews from other utilities will be assisting with power restoration beginning tomorrow. morning. This will be a multi-day event, and we appreciate your patience."
