Great-power rivalry between the United States, China, and Russia was a hot topic at the American Property Casualty Insurance Association (APCIA) Annual Meeting in Dallas, TX, from October 2-4.
Special guest George W. Bush, 43rd president of the United States, set the scene during a fireside chat with Dana Perino, former White House press secretary, and David A. Sampson, APCIA president and CEO, where he discussed the war in Ukraine, US relations with China, and how the global geopolitical landscape is extremely fraught at present.
APCIA members were then treated to a session from Hal Brands, Henry A. Kissinger distinguished professor of Global Affairs at Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, on ‘What history tells us about great-power rivalry: America, Russia, and China’.
