# States Pass Struct'd Settlemt Laws

Three states-Indiana, Iowa and Texas-this week passed and sent to their respective governors bills that will protect consumers from unscrupulous purchasers of structured settlements. These states will then join four others that already have enacted such laws this year. This exceeds last year‘s total, according to the Alliance of American Insurers, when Michigan, Maryland, Ohio and Pennsylvania, passed structured settlement protections.
