WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON AKST FRIDAY... * WHAT...Snow and blowing snow expected. Plan on difficult travel conditions. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches expected. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph will cause areas of blowing and drifting snow reducing the visibility to one half mile or less at times. * WHERE...Central Interior. * WHEN...9 AM today to noon Friday. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds will continue to increase this evening and will remain strong through Friday morning. The strongest winds are expected over Elliott Highway Summits. Snowfall will begin Thursday morning. The highest snowfall amounts are expected south of Minto. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Winter Storm Warning for snow and blowing snow means severe winter weather conditions are occurring. This will make travel very difficult or impossible.
