Significant Blowing Snow Today across portions of Central
Wyoming...
.A combination of strong wind and fresh snow will result in
considerable blowing and drifting of snow across southern Fremont
County into Natrona County.
...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM MST THIS
EVENING...
* WHAT...Areas of blowing and drifting of snow. A Southwest wind
of 30 to 40 mph with gusts from 50 to 65 mph. A wind gust of 77
mph has already been recorded at the weather sensor in Red
Canyon along Highway 28 at 7:30 AM this morning.
* WHERE...South Pass.
* WHEN...Now until 9 PM MST.
* IMPACTS...Travel over South Pass will likely become very
difficult to nearly impossible today. The combination of
strong wind and slippery roads will increase the chances of a
vehicle sliding off the road.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Localized whiteout conditions possible.
