Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe. A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

THE FLOOD ADVISORY FOR A DAM FLOODGATE RELEASE REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 215 PM MDT THURSDAY FOR NORTHWESTERN BIG HORN AND EAST CENTRAL PARK COUNTIES... Minor flooding will occur along the Shoshone River from the Buffalo Bill Dam to Bighorn Lake as a result of increased releases from the Buffalo Bill Dam. At 8 PM, the Shoshone River just west of Cody was at 8.5 feet. Flood stage is 9 feet. The river should remain steady at this level for the next few days. At 8 PM, the Shoshone River near Lovell was at 9.5 feet. Flood stage is 11 feet. The river is expected to crest around 10.8 feet Tuesday afternoon, and remain steady around 10.8 feet for the next few days.
