BLOWING DUST HEALTH ALERT IN EFFECT FOR THE POWDER RIVER BASIN OF NORTHEASTERN WYOMING THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH MIDNIGHT THURSDAY NIGHT... Southwest winds will continue to increase today, with gusts around 50 mph. Winds will become northwest early this evening and strong through Thursday...with winds diminishing Thursday night. Wind speeds tonight and Thursday will be 30 to 40 mph with gusts around 60 mph. The Wyoming Air Quality Division recommends the elderly, young children, and individuals with respiratory problems avoid excessive physical exertion and minimize outdoor activities during this time. Although these people are most susceptible to health impacts, the air quality division also advises that everyone should avoid prolonged exposure to the poor air quality conditions.
